SEO or search engine optimization is a complicated subject, that changes almost day to day. So any books tend to be out of date as soon as they are published…. However here is my recommended list of SEO books.

The Art of SEO (O’Reilly Publishing) by Enge, Spencer, Fishkin & Stricchiola

This is the SEO bible, a must read for any SEO students.

Inbound Marketing (Wiley Press) by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah

A great guide for search engine placement as well as marketing on the social media such as facebook and twitter. It is also a great guide for blog marketing.

Search Engine Optimization for Dummies, Building Your Business with Google for Dummies, and Digital Marketing for Dummies.

This is where I started my SEO career, and they are still great books

Web Copy That Sells (Amacom Press) by Maria Veloso.

This is the defining formula for Web Copy writing.

Writing Feature Articles (Focal Press) by Brendan Hennessy.

The guide I use for writing articles…..

This is by no means a complete list of SEO related articles, and if anybody wants to add any others feel free to comment!

My name is Jeremy Fincham, and this is an experiment. Is it possible to get to the top page in Google for the search term “SEO”?

The search term SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is probably hardest to get to the top of, because all of the SEO companies are obviously trying the same. To be on that first page, prooves that they are the top experts.

I have managed to get several sites to the top of Google for keywords I have targeted, but they have been niche subjects. This is my blog of the experience…..which is also the experiment.

I will be using several tools, all free. I will be reviewing each one, and I will be passing on SEO tips on the way.
